Matlock – Weight Loss Camp Day Report – 28 June 2015

This special blog post report is what happened in one of our recent Fitfarms fat camp weeks as reported by one of our instructors.

Sunday morning sees the first of the wake up workouts, an early morning session before breakfast that is aimed at ensuring the ladies perform some exercise in the fasted state. Exercising after a fasted period will help enable the burning process as there are less readily available carbs around to be used as an energy source. I'm informed the session was tough as it was HIIT training led be Andy which will never be easy! But still the smiles are still there, even if they are covering up a few aching muscles from the day before. Today will be far from the ladies typical Sundays as we have a jam packed day planned for them including the addition of 4 new arrivals that narrowly escaped the first tough day, although I'm sure they'll make up for it! Sunday includes a local walk along with varying classes taken by the 3 of us. The clients get to experience kettlebells, agility and coordination, a fitness workshop and a fast blast intense workout all in one day and top it all off with a treat for the after dinner session.

For the last class Sean leads the women through a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) stretching session. PNF using stretching with a partner to allow you to take the muscle further than you would typically be able to stretch on your own. The technique allows a deep release of tension throughout the muscles and is great to aid recovery after such intense days of exercise. The results are undeniably as the clients that could barely band down due to stiff muscles previous to dinner came back from the session brand new!!

Another successful at at Fitfarms and I wish all the ladies luck for the coming days!

Helen
