400g-SU-yoghurt-On many of the FitFarm weight loss retreat and fitness programmes we get asked why we use full fat yoghurt instead of the reduced fat yoghurt.

The main reason is that when you take a substance out of a product you have to add a product and the added product is not a natural product so you end up having food which is not as nutritionally good for you. Full fat will also fill you up so you do not need to eat as much and it slows down the release of sugars into your bloodstream which stops you from overeating. If you are a calorie counter you will ultimately eat less calories during the day because you will feel fuller than if you were eating the processed less nutrient product.

 

The great thing about yoghurt is that it’s easy to make and full of nutrients. We’ve tried most of the major supermarket models and these are we what found were best for that full fat filling up feeling

Tesco, Lidl, Waitrose and Sainsburys. If you are feeling a little more flush “Straight Up” is extremely good. You’ll find this in Waitrose and some of the more high end stores like Selfridges and also in Farmers Markets.

Sprinkle of nuts for the same nutritional value as the seeds.

Any type of berry as they are packed full of antioxidants  and they are great sources of fibre.
